VSS CLIENT CONNECTION
MARCH, 2003
VSS has developed programs that allow for the on-line screen display of any report on your system without modifying the reports.
To display a report on your screen:
1. Type SCREENREPORT (at any menu)
2. This displays the following menu.
1. BEGIN PROCESS
2. RUN REPORT
3. DISPLAY REPORT
When you select option 1 it temporarily sets up your set.printer to prepare it for this process.
When you select option 2 a message is displayed asking you to run the desired report in the usual way. The report will not print at that time.
Once you've run the report you will return to this SCREENREPORT menu and select option 3.
At this point your report will be displayed on your screen with the following option line:
F=FORWARD, P=PAGE, E=END, PR=PRINT, B=BOTTOM, T=TOP,
L=LEFT, R=RIGHT.
P (page) prompts the user to enter a page number. The report then advances to that page.
B (bottom) advances the display to the last page of the report
T (top) moves the display back to the beginning of the report
L (left) shifts the display to the left
R (right) shifts the display to the right
Note: these two options are used in a case where the report exceeds 132 characters, or in a case where the user does not want to compress the screen but still wants to view a
132 character report on their screen
TEXT WRAPPING
This modification allows
you to type continuously in email (?M), order entry remarks, purchase order
remarks and customer remarks. The program
will automatically insert the line end/line feeds where needed.
